So much new to say!

Let's start with this update on the coffee stout.

It looks fantastic, is the update.
As you can see, it was moved over to the carboy earlier this week, where it'll spend at least a week resting and refining before I bottle. I haven't always moved the darker beers to a secondary fermentor, but decided it would give the flavors time to merge and mellow out a bit before the coffee's added later.

Plus, it makes for nifty photos.
Fun fact: Sunlight and fluorescent light gives beer a skunky flavor -- great, right? So even though the basement lights are rarely on, I always make sure to wrap the carboy before stowing it.

Looks so cozy, don't it?
Next time -- a recap of this past weekend's homebrew competition, at which one man generously ran off with all the alcohol-based awards to spare the rest of us the pain of drinking them.
